Cuban Petes

My brother turned 24, last week. So we headed to Cuban Petes in Montclair NJ. Its been years since I've been there. But they surely didn't disappoint.

The triple leche Sponge Cake- Freaking Awesome!

The food there is Awesome, and so is the ambiance. Its a fairly diverse restaurant in terms of the patrons. If you happen to be there on a Friday or Saturday night, expect to see high heel stilettos everywhere. But ladies just take it slow, the wooden entrance is hella slippery, and so is the rest of the floor. But you don't come there dress slacked, lol.

Happy Birthday Eddy- Love you!
Hey Guys,

Just want to drop a note. Amazing weekend!!!!! I've got some posts coming your way. But beyond that, I'm floating on Air. Happy Tuesday!

Mix & Match

Who says Pink, Orange and Khaki don't match.

Who cares if it doesn't. Mix it up!

I don't care to match. But that's my preference. In fact I think the trend right now, is to actually not match. Well not quite. It's actually mixing together different patterns, colors, etc. The only commonality being the texture. I think that's really the trick in making mis-matching match, lol. Now the textures don't have to be the same, they just have to make sense with each other.

Pata Pata

The Shoe Game.
Hey Ladies,  So last week I wore the outfit below with a pair of 3 - 4 inch sling backs, that had seen their last days, to work. As soon as I walked out of my house, I knew this was the wrong choice. In fact I knew it prior, but I was so tired of wearing my boots. Either way, as soon as lunch time hit, I took my squeaky 3 - 4 inches right to Payless. In my head, I needed to get some sandals. I had none, and summer time is here (almost).

Now what I was hoping for, was to get a pair or 2 of 10- 15 dollar sandals. But to my surprise, not that surprised though, Payless is not Payless anymore. Although to their credit, the quality and styles have much improved from my days growing up. I have to say isn't it funny, one day buying a pair of Gucci shoes, then the next a pair of Payless shoes. But hey, a great shoe is a great shoe, no matter where it comes from. So I discovered a great work shoe, that I have totally been rocking. Its a pointy toed pump with a kitten heel. The heel might be a little taller, but not by much.

The pump was 20 bucks, and boy have I broken it in. In fact I'm tempted to go buy a second pair. I will say comfort is "interesting". I really had to break these shoes in. I totally love the heel. Its tall enough to look feminine and chic, but not to tall, to strut in all day. Along with the pump, I did get a pair of sandals, check them out below.

Summer Daze

We started the day in Inwood, first Mani and Pedis, then headed to Forte Tryon Park. It sits right across from the Hudson, with amazing views of New Jersey.

I swear Green and Rose is the color of the season. Variations of both shades were everywhere. I was so inspired. Very sensual and, Romantic.

Gucci

Let it Go...

Let it Be...
Just live..

OK Guys, so I bought myself a pair of Gucci shoes. Why Not!

Ok, so I have to be honest. It's not like I went straight into a Gucci boutique, and copped a pair of $800 shoes. Not at my level - Yet! So I had a package to pick up from fedex- will discuss that later... The fedex facility was located in Secaucus. So while driving down, I noticed a few outlets, namely Tommy Hilfiger (Which I am really NOT into). But nonetheless, it peeked my interest. So I took a detour, to check out what other Outlets were there. And low and behold- Gucci Group. Of course I'm late and everyone and their Mama (including mine), already knew about this place. But hey, that's my charm I guess.

So I went in to check it out. There were a few posers in there, lol. Look, no offense, but if your at an outlet, then we all know why we are here. We're trying to get a break... So no need to act shoo shoo and foo foo, at an outlet mall. That's just beyond me, but whatever.

Now lets get to it, I'm sure most of the items there were last seasons, but I really didn't care. I had a few things in mind- Namely the Nude shoes. Of which I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of. But I didn't come prepared to spend that type of money, lol. So I went into practical mode (as much as one can at Gucci), and actually fancied a round toe, squarish heel, Great work shoe. Second to that was the square toed party pump above (because you guys know, I'm dating...). I loved both shoes, but the round toe pump wasn't available in my size, so I went for the impractical party shoe, that made my legs look long for days!

Here's a tip. If your at a designer outlet, and want to get the best bang for your buck - Go Classic. You can never go wrong with that. Classic never goes out of style. Also opt for the pieces that are made of higher quality material. For instance, if its a choice between a leather pair of shoes/bag/wallet, or canvas pair of shoes/bag/wallet- I'm going for leather. If its a choice between, a pump and a ballerina shoe, I'm going for the pump. My point really being, that you should still be selective, even at a designer store. Sometimes the name behind a product is just that, and does not equate to quality.

Boy Shorts

What do you think? Are they a Go, or a Hell No.

He's got some Nice legs
Now I'm talking about those fitted Mid thigh or just above the knees shorts. On a nice physique it's really attractive, but is it too European???

Zambians in the City

So my Cousin, friends and I explored NYC Saturday.

I complained the whole way there, my word, I don't walk much, I realize. But I have to admit, my best moments that day, were spent sitting on the Grass at Central Park, and watching the City below, on top of the Empire State Building. The day was so Well Worth it!

It was too Damn Hot for Boots--- I suffered!

This was on the other side of the Hudson River.

We finally made it into the City!!!!

Mulenga, finally got her pic, in front of a Yellow Cab. I was glad to check that off our list, lol. We then met up with her friends, and started our Journey walking.

Notice the H&M Treggings!

Our trek into Central Park. The search for the Lake!

On top of the Empire State Building!
